This entire project is either tempting one group of terrorists to damage a US facility manned by US personnel to justify deployment of boots on the ground, Or. it's because they simply do not trust the locals in the port to leave their boats alone, so they built their own port, away from the population, to control access and deny people from trying to swarm aboard unloading aid ships seeking refuge. The whole keeping your distance means you can keep a secure watch on all fronts, and practice practical military skills and claim it as Humanitarian aid costs.

The piers are mainly there for surveying and for preparation of the building of an oil export loading/transfering port. The US troops are there to protect these activities. the reason the pier is built is because the IDF holds up the trucks trying to cross the few gates through the gaza wall. they built it so late in the game because the US was hoping to get israel to open up the land routes for aid.

This is such a hairbrained idea. Israel is delivering all the supplies the people of gaza needs. Hamas is taking the supplies. Is US tax dollars goiing to pay for this. Who's lives will be lost constructing this pier and protecting it. As it is, hamas will be at the end of the pier to receive the supplies. If Israel is allowed to complete the operation they have underway, there would be no need for a pier.

This disaster of a mission is very representative of the current administration's foreign policy. They send all the wrong messages, and nothing they do takes into account the facts on the ground. This mission is doomed from the start, no one wanted American troops fighting in Gaza, yet that is exactly what is happening. Israel, our ally (maybe former ally since Biden is abandoning them) is RIGHT THERE. They have ports we could ship aid to. The problem was NEVER a shipping issue, it was a Hamas stealing all the aid issue. Trying to bypass Israel like this just looks pathetic as well. Our enemies are laughing at us.

Training and coordination syntax are key metrics to measure success of such operations. The capabilities in this Gaza aid operation appear to be narrowly focused/limited in terms of geography, weather, combat status and volume. The strategic imperative is very high for such operations especially in or around South China Sea. Could this be more of an "intelligence operation" than a "humanitarian" one?
